Southeast Minnesota growers of the Oat Mafia group say their harvest, planted on over 6,000 acres, has no buyer because La Crosse Milling ran out of storage and put deliveries on hold. The growers have only a verbal purchase agreement and no written contract.
Oats without a buyer add to unsold US supply and show weak local milling demand, which pressures oat prices.
After 13 past logistics events, Oats moved a median -1.9% over 5 sessions (23% higher; middle half -5.2% to -0.6%), and +1.5% over 20.
Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
