India's DGFT exempted a list of agricultural exports to Bhutan from existing export restrictions, effective October 3, 2025. The list covers dairy products, vegetables, rice, wheat, pulses, edible oils, sugar and salt.
The measure is meant to keep supplies flowing to Bhutan.
Bhutan is a small import market, so the exemption has little effect on world feed or grain prices. It mainly affects regional trade flows.
