The USDA raised its 2025 US sorghum production forecast 7% from September to 428.39 million bushels, 25% above 2024, on higher yields of 75 bushels per acre and slightly more harvested area. Ending stocks were trimmed to 43 million bushels and the 2025/26 average farm price was lifted to $3.80 per bushel.
A larger crop with stocks roughly flat points to ample feed grain supply, which is bearish for sorghum prices and a cheaper feed alternative to corn for buyers.
