A Reuters poll of analysts expects Mexico's peso to stay close to the middle of its 16.00-22.00 per dollar range through 2026, a band that recently turned 10 years old. The poll forecasts the peso weakening 3.4% to 18.92 per dollar over the next 12 months from about 18.27.
A weaker peso raises the local-currency cost of dollar-priced feed ingredients imported by Mexican feed mills and livestock producers. The forecast implies modestly higher import costs for corn, soymeal and other feed inputs bought in dollars.
