Capesize rates opened the week firm on Pacific miner activity and tighter Atlantic availability, then eased toward Friday with Pacific rates drifting to about $10.00. Panamax fell sharply, with the P5TC index dropping from $14,796 to $11,908 by week's end.
Ultramax, Supramax and Handysize markets also weakened on thin enquiry ahead of the holidays.
