ADM and Planters Cotton Oil Mill agreed to form a cottonseed processing joint venture. Planters will contribute its Pine Bluff, Arkansas crush plant, and ADM will contribute its Memphis, Tennessee facility, where crushing will end while the refinery continues.
ADM will own 60% of the venture, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2026.
Ending crushing at Memphis removes some cottonseed crush capacity, which could tighten cottonseed meal availability in the Mid-South, though the net effect on meal prices is likely small.
