USDA forecasts 2025-26 global sunflower seed production at 51.77 million tons, down 1% year on year, with Ukraine, the EU and Turkey all lower. Ending global sunflower oil stocks are projected to fall 15% to 2.28 million tons, the lowest in many years.
Tighter sunflower seed and oil supplies lift crush margins and support sunflower meal prices. Sunflower meal is a substitute in protein-feed blends, so it can pull meal prices higher.
