Inpasa, Brazil's largest corn ethanol producer, announced about R$3.5 billion in investment to build a new plant in Rondonópolis and expand its Nova Mutum facility. Together with two plants already under construction, the projects will raise its capacity by 50% to 8.6 billion liters per year.
The company is betting on wider markets for ethanol and DDGS.
Growing corn ethanol capacity in Brazil increases corn demand and expands DDGS supply for feed buyers, which could weigh on DDGS prices over time. Analysts expect the wider industry buildout to pressure ethanol prices lower.
