The Brazilian real slipped back past 5.23 per dollar after testing its strongest levels since May 2024. Profit-taking, renewed dollar stabilization, and a pullback across emerging market currencies drove the reversal, while Copom kept the Selic at 15%.
A weaker real after a rally slightly lowers the dollar cost of Brazilian exports, a small offset to the earlier strength. The move is largely currency noise for feed buyers with limited direct price impact.
