Chicago corn, soybean and wheat futures fell on Friday on profit-taking and a rebound in the US dollar after it hit a four-year low earlier in the week. Wheat settled at USD5.38, soybeans at USD10.64-1/4 and corn at USD4.28-1/4 a bushel.
Traders cited risk-off sentiment and speculation that Kevin Warsh could be named Fed chair.
A firmer dollar reduces US export competitiveness and removes some of the support from the recent weak-dollar rally, pressuring grain and oilseed prices. Ample global supply limits any rebound.
