The Canola Council of Canada and Canadian Canola Growers Association welcomed the Beijing deal. Tariffs on Canadian canola seed are expected to fall to 15% from March 1, 2026, and the 100% tariff on canola meal is expected to be removed from the same date until at least year-end.
Removing the meal tariff and lowering the seed tariff should restore export flows to China, supporting canola meal and seed prices for feed buyers.
