Peru's Ministry of Production authorized the first 2026 anchovy season in southern Peru, with a total allowable catch of 251,000 tons. The season runs from January 1 to June 30 or until the catch limit is reached, and is based on Imarpe's findings of healthy biomass.
Only permitted vessels with per-vessel limits may fish.
A 251,000-ton southern quota gives fishmeal supply visibility for early 2026, a neutral-to-supportive signal for feed ingredient markets.
