The US dollar fell against the Vietnamese dong on Thursday, with Vietcombank selling the greenback 0.19% lower at VND26,260. Globally the yen recovered slightly to 155.87 per dollar and the dollar index held near 97.6 as traders awaited the response to the Supreme Court's February 20 ruling striking down Trump's emergency tariffs.
A firmer dong and shifting dollar strength affect the cost of imported feed ingredients for Vietnamese buyers and the competitiveness of Vietnamese exports. Tariff uncertainty adds noise to trade flows but has little direct effect on grain prices.
