The US International Trade Commission has launched a mandatory five-year review of countervailing duties on Moroccan and Russian phosphate fertilizers, requesting information from the domestic industry. The duties were first imposed in 2021 and later revised, with OCP facing over 16% and Russian exporters facing 17.2% to 47.1%.
If the duties are removed, more Moroccan and Russian phosphate could return to the US market, which would ease supply tightness and could pressure US DAP and phosphate prices lower over time.
After 50 past bearish policy events, DAP moved a median +0.9% over 5 sessions (62% higher; middle half -0.1% to +1.6%), and +0.9% over 20.
