Bulgaria's sunflower meal exports for September to January 2025/26 reached about 221 thousand tonnes, up roughly 63% from the same period last season and close to the five-year average. Shipments to third countries were 131 thousand tonnes, with China, France and Italy as key destinations.
The recovery followed a weak 2024/25 season.
A stronger Bulgarian export pace adds meal supply and competition for Chinese and EU buyers, a mildly bearish factor for sunflower meal prices.
