Evonik has commissioned a new methanol pipeline linking Lülsdorf and Wesseling in Germany, which became operational in June 2026. The project is designed to secure methanol for methionine production, cut emissions and enable future green methanol sourcing.
Stronger methanol supply to a key European methionine site reduces the risk of production interruptions, which supports methionine availability. The effect on prices is limited because output volumes are unchanged.
