The suspension of Brazilian agri-food imports into the EU, including poultry, could raise EU consumer chicken prices, according to RaboResearch. The bank raised its 2026 global poultry growth outlook to 3%–3.5%, and global poultry trade grew 3.5% year on year in Q1 2026.
Growth is led by China, the EU, South Africa, the Philippines and Brazil.
Losing Brazilian poultry supply to the EU tightens a major import channel and supports European chicken prices. Diverted Brazilian product could also pressure prices in other export markets.
