APK-Inform estimates that about 8.5 million tons of sunflower seed were processed in Ukraine from September to May of 2025/26, down 11% and the lowest for that period since 2013/14. Weak processing margins, low raw material stocks and wartime port risks are constraining plants, and the season may be among the weakest in a decade.
Reduced crushing in Ukraine tightens sunflower meal and oil supply, which supports meal prices until the larger 2026 harvest arrives.
