US DDGS prices have fallen sharply since early June, with Platts CIF New Orleans barges assessed at $199/st on June 12 after a $24/st drop. Chicago truck and California rail prices also declined.
Traders cited weak export demand, rising ethanol-driven supply and slower summer feed consumption.
Weaker DDGS prices lower the cost of a substitute feed ingredient for corn and soymeal, which pressures feed-grade value. Persistent export weakness keeps the downside pressure on DDGS until demand returns.
