Grain Millers Canada, a Yorkton, Saskatchewan oat processor, is marking its 25th anniversary and says it produces about 227,000 tonnes of oat ingredients a year. The company buys nearly 24 million bushels of oats annually, mainly from within 160 to 200 km of Yorkton.
A feature on processing capacity and sourcing volume gives little new price signal for feed buyers; oat demand here is mainly food-grade milling. The wet, late-seeded Prairie spring is the only supply factor mentioned.
