The White House Office of Management and Budget sent a request for $87.6 billion in supplemental funding to House Speaker Mike Johnson. The request includes $11.1 billion for farmers, with $10 billion for row-crop and specialty crop producers, and asks Congress to pass year-round E15.
Most of the total, $67.1 billion, is for the War Department.
The aid would support crop farmers facing low prices, which could sustain planted area. Year-round E15 would add to ethanol and corn demand if passed.
