Lean hog futures fell $2.05 to $3 on Thursday with open interest down 7,202 contracts. The USDA national base hog price was $101.05 and the pork cutout fell 14 cents to $102.39, while weekly pork export sales reached a four-week high.
Lower futures and a softer cutout show near-term bearish pressure on hog prices, partly offset by firm export sales.
