Kazakhstan holds over 6.6 billion tonnes of potash salt reserves but produces no potash fertilizer domestically. The country needs about 14,000 tonnes a year, all imported, and plans to raise total mineral fertilizer use to 2.3 million tonnes in 2026.
This is a structural, small-market import dependence with no direct effect on global potash prices. It does not change near-term supply or demand balances.
