KB Securities expects the won-dollar rate to trade between 1,350 and 1,450 for some time after it dropped to about 1,300 on August 19 from a peak near 1,550 in early July. The researcher said the SK hynix ADR inflow is largely ending, and renewed foreign stock selling and Korean overseas investment could limit further won gains.
The rate has since hovered near 1,380.
Fading ADR dollar inflows point to less won support, which could raise the won cost of dollar-priced imports. The forecast range implies limited downside for the won from current levels.
