The Canadian dollar rebounded on Monday from a two-week low against the US dollar. Brent crude rose above $90 a barrel on renewed US-Iran tensions around the Strait of Hormuz, and month-end hedging also supported the loonie.
Gains were capped by rising bets on a September Fed rate hike.
Higher oil prices support the loonie, which slightly lowers Canadian import costs for dollar-priced feed. The move is routine currency commentary with no major new trade or supply shock.
