Kropz Plc announced an urgent operational review and restructuring at Kropz Elandsfontein, which has not reached operational profitability. Phosphate rock revenue will shrink, with no further phosrock production planned, and the business will shift its focus to Nanophos development.
Elandsfontein produced 150,246 tonnes and sold 149,907 tonnes in the first five months of the financial year ending March 31, 2027.
The end of new phosrock output from this mine removes a small source of supply, while the shift to Nanophos signals continued weak demand for conventional phosphate rock.
