The Colombian peso's Representative Market Rate rose to COP 3,349.63 on September 29, 2026, up from COP 3,306.86 the previous day. The dollar gained 5.64% over the prior week, one of the sharpest weekly moves of the year, ahead of a Banco de la República rate decision.
The peso still holds a year-to-date gain of about 19%.
A weaker peso raises the local-currency cost of imported inputs, which can pressure Colombian feed and grain import costs. The move is driven mainly by currency markets rather than by a change in feed supply or demand.
