USDA cut its 2026 U.S. sorghum production estimate to 283.98 million bushels, down 12.46 million from August and about 153 million below 2025. The decline reflects drought effects on yield and lower planted and harvested area.
Ending stocks fell 2 million bushels to 21 million, partly offset by a lower export forecast of 160 million bushels, and the 2026/27 farm price was raised to $4.60.
A much smaller U.S. crop tightens sorghum supplies for feed buyers and supports higher prices, though the export cut limits the upside.
