The Korean won strengthened against the dollar on strong semiconductor-led exports and increased dollar supply. The won traded at an average of 1,342.6 per dollar in the first 12 trading days of October and hit 1,328.9 on Friday, its strongest since October 2024.
Bank of Korea data showed the won's monthly average falling steadily from July through September.
