The GIAV crop tour estimates Victoria's wheat crop at 4.66 million tonnes, up 18%, and barley at 6.44 million tonnes, up 82%. That would make Victoria's barley crop larger than its wheat crop for the first time this century, well above ABARES' September estimates.
A much larger Victorian barley crop adds to exportable feed grain supply, which is mildly bearish for barley prices.
