The Panama Canal Authority said it is handling higher traffic efficiently and operating without queues. In October 2025 to March 2026 the canal handled 6,288 transits, up 224 year on year, and cargo volumes rose about 5%.
Officials said recent peak days exceeded 40 transits.
Stable canal throughput limits the likelihood of sustained freight premiums for grain shipments, so the price impact on feed commodities is modest.
