The Corps of Engineers Vicksburg District dredge Jadwin departed on May 10, 2022, with a crew of about 50 to start the dredging season on the Mississippi. Its first stop was Lake Providence, Louisiana, for three days before moving downstream to Morgan City, Louisiana.
Routine dredging maintains channel depths for barge traffic, supporting normal freight flows, and has little direct price impact on feed commodities.
