A Wisconsin flock of about 2.75 million chickens is set to be culled as bird flu spreads in the U.S. The outbreak is the largest U.S. poultry outbreak since 2015 and the disease is already widespread in Europe and present in Africa, Asia and Canada.
Depopulating a flock this large removes a significant amount of poultry supply, supporting chicken prices and reducing feed ingredient demand in the affected area.
