WOAH reported that highly pathogenic avian flu outbreaks declined slightly in late April, with 48 poultry outbreaks and 33 wild bird events. The first detection was recorded in Gambia, and about 1.5 million birds were died or culled over three weeks.
A slowing outbreak pace is mildly bearish for disease-driven poultry supply losses and therefore for poultry feed demand. The spread to new areas keeps some risk premium in place.
