WOAH released the first thematic study from its Observatory, focused on zoning as an international standard. The study drew on a questionnaire sent to members about zoning for avian influenza, African swine fever and foot-and-mouth disease.
Zoning was implemented by 70% of responding members affected by avian influenza in poultry, 55% for ASF and 50% for FMD.
Zoning rules determine whether disease outbreaks trigger nationwide trade bans, which affects how quickly poultry and pork export flows recover. The study has little direct price effect on feed commodities.

Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
