Indonesia may extend its palm oil export levy waiver through the end of 2022, Economy Minister Airlangga Hartarto said on October 4. The waiver was introduced in mid-July to reduce a stock glut that built after a three-week export ban in April.
The current waiver was scheduled to end after October 31.
Extending the levy waiver keeps Indonesian palm oil cheaper to export, supporting global vegetable oil supply and pressuring palm and soyoil prices.
