Indonesia plans to deepen downstreaming of its palm oil industry next year to boost exports and smallholder welfare. Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati cited palm oil export taxes and levies as revenue sources and said the government will work to stabilize palm oil prices.
Biodiesel B35 and B40 production and consumption are also part of the plan.
Stronger domestic processing and biodiesel demand can tighten Indonesian palm oil supply available for export, which supports international palm oil prices. Price stabilization measures may also limit how far domestic prices move.
After 548 past bullish policy events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (61% higher; middle half -0.7% to +2.1%), and +0.9% over 20.
