Indonesia has issued a regulation implementing its B50 biodiesel mandate from July 1, with a three-month transition period for smaller retailers to clear existing stocks. Under the mandate, all gasoil sold must contain 50% palm-based diesel.
The programme responds to oil supply disruptions that followed attacks on Iran.
The regulation confirms the timeline for a large increase in palm-based diesel demand, which tightens palm oil supply for food and export use. The transition period may cushion the immediate effect on demand.
After 548 past bullish policy events, Palm Oil moved a median +0.4% over 5 sessions (61% higher; middle half -0.7% to +2.1%), and +0.9% over 20.
