USDA projects the 2025-26 US sunflower crop at 2.3 billion pounds, more than double 2024-25. The crush was raised to 992 million pounds, and sunflower oil domestic use was lifted to 702 million pounds.
Crush-plant seed prices have risen by $2.75 per cwt since October, and acreage is expected to grow in 2026.
A larger US sunflower crop and strong crush demand raise domestic supply of sunflower meal and oil, but firm seed prices reflect tight oil demand. The net effect on feed prices is limited.
