Live cattle dropped sharply on Tuesday as traders liquidated long positions ahead of the US midterm elections, with beef cutouts also declining. Chicago December wheat closed down 1.5 cents, while December corn rose 2.75 cents.
Live cattle for December fell $1.75 to 115.55, and November Class III milk slipped 0.08 to 14.70.
Election-driven liquidation and weaker cutouts pressured cattle prices, while corn and wheat showed little net change.
