Diplomatic sources told Reuters that most Belarusian potash exports are not affected by the EU sanctions. The EU limited the potash scope to avoid harming European agriculture and to preserve room for further pressure on Belarus.
Because most Belarusian potash continues to flow, the supply loss is smaller than the headline sanctions suggest. This limits the upward price pressure on potash.
