NZX dairy futures were mixed the week before February 26, 2018. Whole milk powder March futures settled at US$3,240/t, up US$30, while skim milk powder March futures fell US$40 to US$1,950/t and anhydrous milkfat and butter near-dated contracts eased.
Firmer whole milk powder and weaker skim milk powder point to mixed global dairy demand, with protein-based dairy feed prices under mild pressure and milkfat firm for later contracts.
