Vietnam's 5 percent broken rice export prices rose for a fifth straight week to $445-$450 per tonne as demand stayed robust and supplies thinned. Indian parboiled rice fell $8 to $409-$413, its lowest in four and a half months, while Thai 5 percent rates dipped to $440-$445 FOB Bangkok.
Tight Vietnamese supply supports Asian rice values, while weaker rupee and baht pressure on Indian and Thai offers signals softer prices there. Rice is a minor feed ingredient, so the impact on feed-grain costs is limited.
