The National Grain and Feed Association board approved changes to its Trade Rules that set a five-day timeline for both applying a barge to a contract and providing billing instructions. The change replaces prior periods of seven and three days, effective August 1, 2020.
A subcommittee of member companies developed the revision over about a year.
The change is administrative and affects contract timing for barge shipments rather than the volume of grain moving. It has little direct effect on feed commodity prices.

Moves of each commodity's benchmark from the last close before the event. Historical reads pool past events of the same kind; they describe what happened, not what will. Not investment advice.
