简介
Over the past 12 months, XMET Pty Limited (XMET) and the associated companies, Aqua Firma Solutions Pty Ltd and Macsuz Pty Ltd, have collaboratively pioneered the development of a material to significantly curtail methane emissions in laboratory models.
The XMET formulations are based on a pyrolysis process which requires heating under an oxygen-limited atmosphere. This technique is becoming increasingly common for the production of a related material called biochar, which can be traded on the voluntary carbon markets.
While the current XMET formulations do not meet the specifications for the voluntary carbon trading market as a method to store carbon, there is significant potential for carbon credits when utilized as a feed additive to reduce methane emissions.
