WTI fell below $50 a barrel for the first time since early December, and Brent slipped to its lowest since December 1 at $52.42. US stockpiles reached an all-time record in February, extending a run of monthly gains and fueling worries about a global supply glut.
A break below the $50 level and record US stocks suggest further downside for crude, which lowers energy costs across feed and biofuel supply chains.
