US and European wheat futures rose July 10 to their highest since late May on escalating Russia-Ukraine tensions and USDA projections of tighter global wheat stocks. Russia briefly halted Don-Azov shipping, which could affect nearly a quarter of its Sea of Azov wheat exports.
USDA's 2026/27 world wheat stock forecast fell to 272.84 million tons from 279.04 million.
Tighter world wheat stocks and export route risk from Russia support higher wheat prices. Corn and soybeans gain modestly in sympathy.
