First Resources reported 4Q16 crude palm oil production up 12.7% quarter on quarter and 19.0% year on year on better oil extraction rates, though full-year 2016 CPO output fell 7.6%. UOB Kay Hian said Indonesian Dumai/Belawan CPO prices rose 3.8% quarter on quarter and 38.4% year on year.
Tight palm oil supply and steady export demand lifted prices, and UOB expects CPO to hover at US$650-750/tonne in 1H17 before easing when output recovers in 2H17.
