The USDA projects Bangladesh's soymeal imports will fall over 23 percent to 350,000 tonnes in fiscal 2016-17 as domestic crushing expands. Domestic soymeal output is forecast to rise 8.5 percent in fiscal 2017-18.
Bangladesh is replacing imported meal with locally crushed meal, reducing its demand for world soymeal exports and slightly pressuring export prices.
