The ECB's account of its July monetary policy meeting reviewed financial market developments. Euro-area government bond yields had risen from very low levels after the Sintra forum in late June, while German two-year yields remained well below zero.
Medium- to longer-term inflation expectations were described as stable.
Higher euro-area yields and a firmer euro tighten financial conditions and can weigh on euro-area growth and import prices. For feed buyers the effect on grain and meal prices is indirect and small.
